Deck Construction

What separates a well-built deck from one you'll regret in five years?

Deck construction ranges widely in quality, material, and finish — and the difference is visible within a few years. Paquette Contracting delivers high-end builds using Trex composite decking, hidden fastener systems, and waterproof membrane technology across Ottawa and Prescott-Russell.

Every deck we build starts with a design consultation, not a sales pitch.

Which Deck Material Is Right for Your Backyard?

How Every Paquette Deck Gets Built

1.

Design & Vision

Before any materials are ordered, Jonathan evaluates your backyard to determine the ideal layout, staircase placement, and overall design.

2.

Foundation & Footings

Every Paquette deck is anchored on either concrete footings or helical piles, chosen based on your specific site, because a high-end finish means nothing without a solid foundation beneath it.

3.

Framing & Waterproof Membrane

Once framed, a waterproof membrane is applied across the joists, a detail that adds roughly 10 years to the frame's lifespan.

4.

Decking & Hidden Fasteners

Decking boards are installed using a hidden fastener system — no visible screws on the finished surface, just clean lines and a finish that reflects the quality of the materials underneath.

5.

Custom Railings & Finishing Touches

The final phase is where a Paquette build separates itself — custom railings, precisely placed staircases, and a finishing walkthrough that confirms every detail meets the standard set at the design phase.
